There's an art to travelling across the map systematically so that you don't leave behind little areas where monsters could be hiding. Sure, it can be annoying sometimes, but I never have to spend more than ten minutes looking for the last group--and usually it's a lot less than that. You have to take a minute or two before you go in to study the map and come up with a plan.
Edited to add: I think there should be a special title track for people who vanquish solely with heroes and henchmen. That's what I'm doing now (just finished Cantha), and naturally it's a LOT harder than vanquishing with your guildies and all their souped-up PvE skills. You can forget about gimmicks like Ursan Blessing; you need a real bar if you're hero-hench vanquishing.

i wish we had a better reward for vanquishing, i mean you get about 1-2k for half an hour to an hours worth of time vanquishing.

madragors don't count, as long they aren't from the begin on visible. POP UPS count in generally not, as long you don't aggro them, which means, that you let them pop up...

Deldrimor Bowl.
If you are Vanquishing Deldrimor Bowl, coming from Griffon's Mouth.
little things to take note: only if you come from Griffon's Mouths (I think):
If you already kill 125 foes, and still the vanquishing is not complete, take a run towards the exit to Griffon's Mouths. you don't actually have to kills these snow ettins (I counted 6), but they are there running into Griffon's Mounts. I think it is because of this quest, To Kryta: Refugees
There is also a sentry of 3 shiverpeaks that travels around the helmet icon area.
Numbers of foes for vanquishing Deldrimor Bowl is 125 (on my counter).
Numbers o foes in Griffon's Mouths is around 50 (forgot to look, but was 48 when I was killing the last 2 foes)
Numbers of foes in Scoundrel's Rise is 68
Numbers of foes in Pockmark Flats is 157
Numbers of foes in Regent Valley is 127
I thought the numbers would help in determining which area you want to vanquish in relation to how much time you have to spend but i think you probably can guess by looking at the map :P~
anyway, hope that help.

I just finished tyrian vanq yesterday, and it was the biggest pain in my life. However I generally grabbed patrols as I saw them, and didn't spend more than 20 mins looking for a group/monster I missed at any time.
I just hate vanquishing cause its the biggest grindfest that displays that you actually have very little skill and alot of time.

Legendary Tourist - simply visit all all explorable areas
Or maybe not......

No, you'd have to take screenshots of certain parts of each area as well. How can you get Legendary Tourist without bringing back an album full of snapshots?
*guilty of snapshotting pretty areas when vanquishing with her friends

QFT. Because.
And the vanquishing ain't too bad, you get to meet old enemy friends, and (sometimes annoyingly long) walks in the park (looking around for that one last critter), but which end with some sort of celebration. No harm done.

Vanquishing is nice, after killing every little critter in some of the areas u get a feeling of acheavement. I have no problems now with finding that last monster cause of how i vanquish, i go along the edge(getting cartographer while im at it) and then work my way in.

I just started vanquishing some areas, vanquished my first area the other day, and that was in Elona, Jahai Bluffs.
Was quite easy although the last patrol took the longest to find. Plus if you get any elite tomes you don't want, sell them for PROFIT >_>
Oh and while vanquishing, you get more % in cartographer title, open chests for treasure hunter title AND in elona, SS/LB points if you haven't maxed it already (I have 7 points left til I get Rank 8 Sunspear now)
Vanquishing is also fun if your in a bad mood and want to kill innocent creatures >.>

I can't see how people can have so much trouble finding the mobs.
It's logical thinking as to where they are, and not leaving any areas open o.o.

My first Vanq was Plains of Jarin aswell. Guess where the f****ing SINGLE LAST ENEMY was...
In the middle of the sea, at the absolute upper edge of the map, as you can see.

Vanquishing is a bear but can give you a sense of accomplishment. That one area of the shiverpeaks that had sooooper fast mino patrols was a bear to do, because you couldn't catch the damn things. Although, imho the worst part of vanquishing (before the rampant consumables and gwen skills etc) was getting 99% of an area done then coming up on some impossible boss/huge group of enemies and getting booted for dp. ugh.

Then don't do it. There's no point in vanquishing at all.
